• Continuing Medical Education (CME)

  • Centura Health Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs are established to review educational content conducted under the auspices of the accredited institutions. The CME programs act pursuant to the Colorado Medical Society’s (CMS) policy and procedures in accordance to the criteria set forth by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The CMS is the final authority for the accreditation of intrastate providers of CME in Colorado.  Organizations with an accredited program must abide by these policies and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Commercial Support and Accreditation Criteria

Planners and presenters should be prepared to disclose the nature of relevant financial relationships to the organizers and audience of a CME event. The CME program shall resolve any conflict of interest between presenters and their interactions with industry.

Our purpose is to review and as appropriate, assign AMA PRA Category 1 Credit to individual educational activities and to assure physicians and the public that CME activities are planned and implemented by accepted educational standards.

Overall CME should improve the physician’s ability to care for patients.  Therefore, all the recommendations involving clinical medicine in a CME activity must be based on evidence that is accepted within the profession of medicine as adequate justification for their indications and contraindications in the care of patients.

Please contact the CME Office at 303-778-2554 if you have any questions, or if you would like additional information.
