  • Porter Adventist Hospital offers a range of behavioral health services, from outpatient appointments to acute care hospitalization. Services are listed from the least restrictive to the most restrictive care.

    • The Centre for Behavioral Health - 303-778-5774
      Centre offers outpatient services for all ages. This includes psychiatric medication management, outpatient therapy and specific mental health programs.

    • Substance Use Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP-SU) - 303-778-2541
      Program provides comprehensive treatment for individuals presenting with a pattern of substance abuse or chemical dependency for adults.

    • Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program - 303-778-5770
      Program designed for adult individuals stepping down from inpatient treatment or those assessed as needing a higher level of treatment services than outpatient counseling.

    • Electro-Convulsive Therapy Services - 303-715-7765
      Administered in a specially equipped treatment area and staffed by board certified psychiatrists, anesthesiologists and nurses specially trained in ECT.

    • Adult Acute Care Hospitalization - 303-765-6969
      For adults (19-64 years old) with severe behavioral health problems who pose an imminent risk to themselves or others.

    • Geriatric Acute Care Hospitalization - 303-765-6969
      Specially designed for seniors (65 and older) who pose a risk to themselves or others and can participate and benefit from inpatient hospitalization. Patients with Moderate to Severe Dementia / Alzheimer’s are not appropriate for this unit.

    • Admissions Point of Care Nurse - 303-765-6969

      Porter Adventist Hospital’s Admissions Department is available to assist individuals age 19 – 64 years old (adult unit) and 65 and older (geriatric unit) who are experiencing a behavioral health acute crisis. We treat patients with depression, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, adjustment disorders, personality disorders and psychosis.

      • If you are looking for an acute care inpatient hospitalization for yourself or a loved one, please go to your nearest emergency department.  Once there, an evaluation from the psychiatric consultation team will be done to determine what is the most appropriate disposition. If the patient is experiencing a psychiatric emergency and requires hospitalization they will look for an available bed. 
      • If you are at Porter or a Centura Hospital and there are beds available, the patient may be admitted there. If there are no beds available then the psychiatric consultation team will initiate a search for the first available psychiatric hospital that can provide the patient with the appropriate services.

    RMCP provides crisis counseling and state-wide resource referrals for those individuals in crisis and assistance in accessing the State’s crisis support system.

    Colorado Crisis Walk-In Centers  

    Walk-din centers are open 24/7 and offer confidential, in-person crisis support, information and referrals to anyone in need. For a list of locations, please visit their website.
