Our History

Henry Porter not only started a legacy in 1930 when he built Porter Adventist Hospital-he began a healthcare revolution the likes of which Denver had never seen.

Seventy-five years later, a new revolution is starting- one that is powered by over 1,200 Porter employees as we strive to create an unparalleled regional medical center that provides complex medicine in a spiritually healing environment. In honor of Henry's legacy we are calling this evolution, "The New Porter."

Porter is part of Centura Health, which is Colorado's largest health care system. Together, Porter and other Centura Health organizations, serve people throughout the metro Denver area, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Cañon City, and several mountain communities. Our system encompasses 12 hospitals, eight senior living facilities, and Centura Health at Home, which includes home care, hospice services, infusion, home medical equipment and oxygen services.
